In 2022, Chernihiv Oblast in Ukraine planted 68,668.96 hectares of potatoes, marking a 4.4% decrease from the previous year. Despite the reduced planting area, the average potato yield has significantly increased to 35-50 t/ha this year, more than double the yield from last year. The Department of Agro-Industrial Development of Chernihiv Oblast anticipates that the overall harvest volume will surpass that of the previous year. The 'Continental Farmers Group', a major potato producer, is aiming for yield targets of 28 t/ha for seed potatoes, 28.5 t/ha for chips potatoes, and 37 t/ha for table potatoes.
