The salt industry in Vietnam has been declining in recent years due to low income and inefficient production. The country currently has 73 processing establishments for refined salt, iodized salt, and clean salt for export, but the quality and quantity of salt have not met the requirements of the chemical industry, leading to imports. To promote the development of the salt industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has implemented plans and projects to improve the quality and value chain of Vietnam's salt industry.
