Bread in Ukraine may become 25% more expensive, however, this is not related to the harvest. The main factors are energy costs, logistics, salaries, inflation, and so on. This was stated by Denis Marchuk, Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council (UAC). He emphasized that the grain harvest this year is sufficient and meets the country's domestic needs. "It is very important to understand that farmers grow only grain, which is the raw material. And when we see ready-made bread on the shelves of stores, it has already passed through a large number of production cycles. The cost of grain in the price of bread makes up no more than 20-25%, and Ukraine this year has almost the same harvest as last year. Then about 22 million tons of wheat were harvested, and now it is over 21.8 million tons. For domestic needs, 6–7 million tons are sufficient, so there can be no deficit," emphasized Denis Marchuk.
