Madrid, November 14 (EFEAGRO).- The price of eggs has continued to climb and increased by 22.5% in October last year compared to the same month in 2024 and by 5.1% in just one month, making it once again the basic food item that has risen the most in price, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The Consumer Price Index (CPI), released this Friday, shows that the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages have increased by 2.4% annually in October, the same rate as in September, and have grown by 1.4% compared to the previous month. Beef (+17.8% annually) and coffee, cocoa, and infusions (+16.2%) have also seen prices rise by over two digits, while on the other side, there is a notable decrease in the prices of oils and fats (-33.5%) and sugar (-13.5%).
