Last year, 717,532 thousand liters of milk were processed in Bulgarian dairies. This is a record amount for the last 5 years, with the lowest figures recorded in 2022 – 679,534 thousand liters of milk. The sheep population has left its mark and the amount of processed milk has decreased. Dairies processed 19,638 thousand liters of sheep's milk, while a year earlier the amount was 20,573 thousand liters, and in 2023, 24,272 thousand liters were processed. The situation with goat's milk is similar – 8,485 thousand liters entered the processing plants last year, 10,171 thousand liters in 2024, and 10,707 thousand liters in 2023.
