The Ukrainian hop industry should be regulated in accordance with European legislation, and the production of high-quality hop products should be carried out according to EU standards. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi at the committee hearings "State and prospects of the development of the domestic hop industry" held in Zhytomyr. Recently, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy presented to the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy the final draft of the law "On hops and hop products" (9234). The document regulates the customs formalities of import; the procedure for checking hops upon import for compliance with minimum market requirements; structure of centers, bodies and types of certification documents.
