In 2023, Russia experienced growth in its native starch production, reaching 390.8 thousand tons, a rise attributed mainly to increased corn starch output. Exports of these starches stood at 20.6 thousand tons, while imports saw a significant decline of 41%, totaling 13.3 thousand tons. The production of modified starches also saw an increase, surpassing 100.5 thousand tons, alongside a 23% reduction in imports. This overall 7% decrease in imports is viewed positively for the market. Additionally, the Zoloto Polye company initiated the construction of a deep grain processing plant in the Stavropol Territory, with an investment exceeding 186 million rubles and a projected annual corn processing capacity of 39 thousand tons, aiming for operational full capacity by the first quarter of 2025.
