Production of all grain in the region increased by almost 27% to the level of 2024 – Rosstat According to preliminary data, in the Kaluga region in 2025, the total area sown to agricultural crops amounted to 351.0 thousand hectares against 349.1 thousand hectares a year earlier, reported Rosstat. Sowing of grains and legumes was increased by 4.2%, to 78.5 thousand hectares, in particular winter wheat – 2.1 times, to 3.1 thousand hectares, grain corn – 1.7 times, to 6.2 thousand hectares, spring barley – by 10.6%, to 9.1 thousand hectares, legumes – by 41.4%, to 2.5 thousand hectares. Among oilseed crops, the areas under soybeans were expanded 2.5 times, to 3.2 thousand hectares, winter rapeseed – by 25.4%, to 11.4 thousand hectares. The main direction in crop production in the region is the cultivation of fodder crops, which in 2025 occupied 240.9 thousand hectares.
