In Muğla, Turkey, the harvest of purple sweet potatoes has been successful, with high yields and profitable prices. The potato, which is adapted to the region's lands, is being cultivated across several districts including Datça, Marmaris, Fethiye, Dalaman, Seydikemer, Ortaca, Ula, Milas, Yatağan and Bodrum. The Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has planted 10 thousand seedlings across 10 decares of land, expecting a yield of around 6 tons per decare. The potato is used in various food products and its leaves are also consumed as a nutritious vegetable. The producer, Hasan Harıpçı, mentioned that the potato is easy and low-cost to cultivate, making it a profitable crop for farmers.
