In Ukraine, due to prolonged rains, the increased acidity of sunflower has become a serious problem in some regions: "in the west, it is practically a catastrophe," reported Khrystyna Serebriakova, the general director of ASAP Agri and broker at Atria Brokers. Moreover, since the sunflower yield is stuck below 2 t/ha and the rains negatively affect the pace and quality of the harvest, ASAP Agri is lowering its forecast for the sunflower harvest in Ukraine for the 2025/26 season to 10.8 million tons—the lowest figure in a decade. Analysts note that the limited supply is already affecting the market, supporting the growth in prices for the entire sunflower complex.
