The raspberry harvest is good and stabilizing in Morocco

The Moroccan raspberry harvest campaign is in full swing in the Agadir region, despite persistent challenges. Having started in early September in Loukkos, in the northwest, the harvest is now extending to Souss Massa. In this context, Ittou Aouragh, from Domaine Yamna Agri, gives a mixed assessment of a season marked by favorable production conditions but hampered by difficulties related to labor and pests. The weather has been key this season, with optimal summer temperatures and the absence of the chergui, a hot and dry wind, which can degrade the quality of the fruit. “Production conditions have been stable this summer, without chergui and with ideal temperatures,” Ittou Aouragh tells Freshplaza. These factors have helped maintain a satisfactory quality and size of raspberries, adding optimism to a campaign that nevertheless remains under pressure.
