The Region of Murcia was the fourth most exporting community of pork and processed pork products, with more than 121,000 tons in 2024. The products are marketed in more than 100 countries. Last year, the value of pork and processed pork exports exceeded 416 million euros, which represents 4.74 percent of the national total. In the Region, there are more than two million pigs in about 1,400 livestock farms that are mainly concentrated in the municipalities of Lorca, Fuente Álamo, and Puerto Lumbreras.
