The rice campaign in Seville concludes by surpassing 110,000 tons and leading production in Spain with 40% of the national volume.

It is said that it never rains to everyone's liking, but for the rice sector, rain is something vital. The availability of water, caused by the rainfall over the past months, and the climate, have allowed for the cultivation of 100% of the surface in the 2025 campaign, which has just ended and in Seville has exceeded 110,000 tons, leading the production in Spain with 40% of the national volume. After several campaigns with figures far below the average, or even not cultivating anything, as in 2023, last year 9,000 hectares of rice fields were sown, 70% of the maximum grouped cultivation surface of the cooperative in the Marismas del Guadalquivir, in the surroundings of the Doñana National Park. On that occasion, 62,000 tons of rice were collected, so the figures expected for 2025 will far exceed those of the previous year.
