Cengiz Avcı, a farmer in Antalya's Kepez district, has completed the first harvest of 200 plum trees in a 1,500 square meter greenhouse, selling 150 kilograms of the produce. The producer aims to double this amount in the second harvest. Currently, domestic prices are 1,000 liras per kilogram, but this is expected to drop to 50 liras in 15 days. The plums, which are the size of hazelnuts, are sold in 50 and 100 gram packages domestically, and in 3-kilogram packages for export to countries like Russia, Germany, Austria, and Dubai. However, export prices have fallen to 250 TL per kilogram.
