The Smena breeding and genetic center, located in the Moscow Region, is nearing completion with an investment of 5 billion rubles. The project, set to be finished in May, will include 22 facilities and is designed to breed the new domestic meat cross-country Smena-9 chickens, known for their high productivity and taste. This initiative is expected to decrease Russia's reliance on imported breeding birds and is part of a larger strategy to increase the share of domestic cross-country chickens, with a goal of 15% by 2025 and 50% by 2028. Construction began in June of the previous year and includes modern facilities for poultry rearing and manure processing.
