(Hongseong=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Jun-beom = On the 13th, it was announced that the South Chungcheong Province will establish a strawberry smart farm complex in the Maganpyeong-ri area of Bujeok-myeon, Nonsan-si, covering an area of 14.1 hectares. The complex will be established by Nonsan City purchasing state-owned land and installing infrastructure, after which tenants will directly install and operate greenhouses. The project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase, scheduled for completion this year, is the South Chungcheong-style smart farm complex (7.4 hectares) and consists of a total of 15 plots. The province and Nonsan City have selected 12 young farmers to occupy 12 of the 15 total plots, and plan to select the remaining 3 this month. The second phase, scheduled for completion in the first half of next year, is the smart horticulture complex (6.7 hectares) and will be occupied by 8 young farmers and 1 anchor company. The province plans to develop the Nonsan strawberry complex into an export specialized base in the future. A total budget of 14.55 billion won is invested in this project. psykims@yna.co.kr
