The assembly adopted the "Resolution Urging the Withdrawal of the Approval of U.S. Apple Imports," introduced by Representative Ju Jin-ha (People Power Party, Budget 2) at the first plenary session of the 361st extraordinary session. Representative Ju emphasized that "the government is considering allowing the import of U.S. apples in the course of the Korea-U.S. trade negotiations, and it is also reported that a dedicated desk will be established within the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency." He stressed that "a great shock and anxiety are spreading among farmers and the entire local community."
