The Huelva Strawberry Producers and Exporters Association reported a 4% decrease in strawberry production for the 2021-2022 season, totaling 270,120 tons, due to climatic adversities and increased production costs. Despite a 2.80% increase in average sale price, profitability has decreased. The season was marked by quality fruit and shifts in market competition due to high temperatures and transport strikes. Raspberry production increased by 7.5%, and blueberry production by 20.2%, but prices dropped significantly due to oversupply. Germany and the UK continue to be the main destinations for red fruits from Huelva, with the UK importing more strawberries than France despite Brexit.
