The strawberry season in Ukraine is the most unprofitable in 12 years

This year, not only the war, but also the weather added many problems to Ukrainian berry growers. In addition to the fact that the strawberry season was not particularly profitable, a prolonged lack of electricity could destroy the future harvest of berry crops, writes EastFruit. The President of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association Taras Bashtannik spoke about this in an interview for SEEDS. – This year, certain difficulties were predicted with the raspberry harvest. Were the forecasts justified? – This year it’s really a little worse with people in terms of collecting. But so far I have not yet received any signals that there is no one to pick raspberries in Ukraine. In neighboring Poland, as I heard, labor may be a big issue. The summer season is just beginning, but the bulk of raspberries in Ukraine come from autumn, and autumn is still far away. But it's still possible. There are raspberries this year and the harvest is good. As for prices, everything is relative. ...
