The structure of sown areas in the Khmelnytsky region of Ukraine will change significantly

Due to the fact that Russia has launched a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, large areas are currently inaccessible to agriculture. As a result, farmers who have the opportunity to work have to reconsider the structure of sown areas. The Voice of Ukraine writes about this. For the harvest of 2022, farmers of Khmelnytsky region sowed 227 thousand hectares of winter grain. During the spring campaign it is planned to sow another 863 thousand hectares of spring crops. "If in previous years large areas were allocated for corn and soybeans, now the farms will increase the crops of peas, barley, wheat, millet and sugar beets," - said in a statement. It is noted that despite the presence of serious problems with fertilizers in Ukraine, farmers of Khmelnytsky region managed to carry out spring fertilization of winter in all fields.
