This month, the FAO raised its forecast for global cereal production in 2025 by 10.1 million tons (0.3 percent) to 2971 million tons. This revision is due to increased expectations for the production of all types of cereals, primarily wheat, corn, and rice (in descending order). Thus, the projected volume of global cereal production is 3.8 percent higher compared to last year's level, marking the largest annual increase since 2013. The global wheat production volume in 2025 is forecast at 809.7 million tons, which is 0.6 percent higher compared to the previous month and currently 1.3 percent higher than the production volume in 2024.
