The United Arab Emirates has overtaken China as the largest importer of Brazilian poultry products, with purchases increasing by nearly 90% in February, according to the ABBA Association of Meat Producers in Brazil. The UAE's increased imports are attributed to the upcoming month of Ramadan. Halal chicken exports, which made up nearly half of Brazil's total chicken exports last year, saw a 5.17% increase in volume and a 25% increase in revenue in the first two months of this year.
