The Volgograd Region has seen a doubling of mustard crop yield in the 2021 season, covering 63 thousand hectares due to its high drought resistance and yield. Mustard has a long history in the region's cuisine and is used for oil and powder. However, industrial production is not well-developed due to pricing issues. The region has two leading processors with a capacity of about 25 thousand tons, and the demand for mustard products, both domestically and internationally, is growing, necessitating an increase in mustard crop production. Additionally, mustard is beneficial for crop rotation and makes a good predecessor for winter crops.
