Moldova's main berry crops harvest decreased by about 20% in 2022, leading to a 50% decrease in fresh berry exports. Despite the decrease, the fall in exports in monetary terms is not significant due to a increase in wholesale purchase prices. Import of fresh berries to Moldova reached 1,200 tons in 2022. The country is expected to continue reducing strawberry plantations, increasing berry freezing, and reorienting exports to the EU and Persian Gulf markets in 2023.
