The harvest of the main berry crops (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.) in Moldova in 2022 decreased by about 20%, the export of fresh berries decreased by 50% compared to last year. The volume of supplies of fresh Moldovan berries in 2021 to the foreign market amounted to 5,170 tons, and in 2022 - only 2,780 tons. Exports of garden strawberries this year decreased to 1,400 tons, and raspberries - to 633 tons. However, due to a significant increase in wholesale purchase prices, the decrease in exports in monetary terms is not so large: 126 million lei against 136 million lei (6.6 and 7.1 million US dollars, respectively).
