The Hydrometeorological Center of Russia has raised concerns about potential damage to stone fruit gardens, including apricots and cherries, due to severe winter frosts across several regions. Lidia Tarasova, a senior researcher at the center, warned that the minus 20-degree isotherm passes through the Southern Federal District, putting stone fruit crops at risk. The Volgograd and Rostov regions, known for their apricot plantations, are particularly vulnerable, as are cherry fruit buds in more northern regions where temperatures have dropped significantly.
