The Jiangjin District Government of Chongqing City has welcomed the arrival of the first durian special train from Southeast Asia, marking the beginning of fruit imports from the region through the China-Laos Railway. The train carried 28 refrigerated containers of Thai mangosteen, durian, and other fruits, with a total weight of 400 tons and a value of approximately 21.6 million yuan. The collaboration between China Logistics Group, Chongqing International Logistics Group, Laos-China Railway Company, and China State Railway Group has led to a significant reduction in transportation time and cost, with the journey from Thailand to Chongqing now taking only 4-4 days, compared to 10-12 days by sea and 6-8 days by road in the past. The train uses new 40-foot backpack refrigerators and is monitored in real-time for temperature and humidity, ensuring the freshness of the fruit and improving transportation efficiency.
