The city of Wonju operated the farmers' dawn market at the Wonjucheon riverbank from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. every day for 9 months, starting from April this year, in order to increase farmers' income and enhance consumer satisfaction. The farmers' dawn market supplied fresh and safe agricultural products produced directly by local farmers at low prices, which received great response from citizens. In particular, this year, various improvement activities such as cart support, strengthening of origin labeling by item, and sales counter support were carried out to increase consumer convenience, further raising satisfaction. This year, the dawn market recorded a total sales amount of 7.9 billion won, and attracted 460,000 visitors, achieving high results and contributing to increasing farmers' income and promoting local agricultural product consumption. It also provided income generation opportunities for small-scale farms and elderly farmers who need stable sales channels, contributing to regional economic revitalization. It was evaluated that this demonstrated a successful model of direct trade markets based on trust between producers and consumers even in a difficult economic situation.
