Colombian livestock sector exports record figures during the first four months of this year with $180.8 million and close to 30 countries as destinations, according to DANE figures and the analysis by Fedegán-FNG's Economic Studies Office. – International meat trade: reached 13,162 tons (t) and a value of USD 61.4 million. The main destinations were China with 5,259 t (USD 23.8 million); Algeria, 2,746 t (USD 14.8 million); Russia, 3,014 t (USD 12.4 million); El Salvador, 669 t (USD 3.6 million); Chile, 408 t (USD 2.4 million); Lebanon, 168 t (USD 1 million). – Live animal exports: reached 126,940 head of cattle for USD 94.4 million. Countries that bought the most Colombian bovines: Egypt with 47,372 animals (USD 35.6 million); Iraq, 37,561 bovines (USD 28.7 million); Saudi Arabia, 38,961 livestock (USD 27.7 million); and Jordan, 3,046 animals (USD 2.3 million). – Viscera and offal exports: totaled 2,440 tons and USD 6.2 million.
