The World Focuses on Seaweed from Wando

Representatives from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and seaweed industry officials from the United States and Portugal visited Wando County, the largest domestic seaweed production area, from the 2nd to 4th for a two-night, three-day schedule. This visit was promoted as part of a collaborative project between the World Wildlife Fund and Incheon National University (Professor Kim Jang-gyun) to develop the seaweed farming industry and facilitate exchanges between researchers and fishermen. Shin Woo-cheol, the county mayor, explained the excellence of Wando County's seaweed and discussed the development direction of the seaweed industry with the visiting delegation.
