The USDA forecasts a 3.26% increase in global oilseed production in the 2020/2021 season, reaching 595.09 million tons, due to better harvests in the United States and Brazil. The production of soybeans, sunflower, and rapeseed is expected to offset the decline in palm and groundnut varieties. The global soybean harvest is estimated to increase by 7.32% from the previous season, with the largest increases in supply expected in Brazil and the United States. While sunflower production is projected to drop by 8.65%, peanut production is expected to increase by 2.74%. The global volume of oilseed exports is estimated to be 193.87 million tons, with a notable increase in rapeseed exports by Canada and soybean exports in the United States.
