The National Garlic Table has accused China of fraudulently exporting frozen garlic to the European Union at lower prices by keeping it at the wrong temperature. The incorrect storage method allows Chinese garlic to be classified as a different tariff classification, entering the EU out of quota and with low tariffs, ultimately harming Spanish garlic producers by limiting their ability to sell at profitable prices. This allegation was revealed during a report prepared by the National Garlic Table and announced at their General Assembly in Las Pedroñeras.
