The Agrarian Rural Development Program (Agro Rural) projects to benefit more than 22,500 producers this year with guano from the Islands to fertilize around 32,000 hectares of crops in 21 regions of the country. To achieve this goal, it has begun the development of the "National Plan for the Repopulation of Guanay Birds". These actions are part of a comprehensive policy of sustainable development that combines environmental conservation with the productive strengthening of rural communities. Faced with the challenge of preserving the populations of guanay birds on the Peruvian coast, Agro Rural has reinforced strategic measures on 22 islands and eight guanay points to restore the ecological balance and guarantee guano, a natural fertilizer vital for family agriculture.
