The head of the olive sector of AVA-Asaja, Luis Julián Pérez, notes that "in Utiel-Requena a severe decrease in the harvest was feared due to the hailstorms that occurred in spring but, above all, due to the lack of rain and the high temperatures throughout the summer, which reduced the weight of the olives. However, the latest rains arrived just in time to plump up the fruits that remained on the trees and the reduction will finally be around 30%.
