The government of the state of Puebla in Mexico will invest 400 million pesos to plant mezcalero agave on 10,000 hectares of land in the Mixteca region. This investment aims to boost the economy of the area, which has historically faced difficulties due to a lack of water resources. The governor of Puebla emphasized that growing mezcalero agave will create opportunities for families to diversify their income and reduce the need for migration by promoting the creation of micro and small businesses or cooperatives.
