Owning farmland can mean stable income, security, and independence – but only for those who know the rules. In Hungary, not everyone can buy land: farmer status requires a professional qualification, the most accessible form of which is the golden-spike farmer's degree. Many dream of owning their own property, orchard, or pasture, but the Land Circulation Act (CXXII of 2013) clearly defines who can acquire farmland. According to the rule, only a farmer can buy or lease agricultural land. This status, however, is not a "title" but a legal category that requires an agrarian qualification. Most people encounter the golden-spike farmer course for the first time at this point, which is the fastest way to obtain the right to eligibility.
