In 2020, Turkey has continued its role as the second-largest buyer of Russian agro-industrial goods, with a particular focus on wheat, bran, sunflower oil, and corn. Wheat imports have increased by 4% from last year, reaching 5.7 million tons worth $1.2 billion. Sunflower oil imports have experienced a significant increase of 36%, amounting to 528 thousand tons valued at $355 million. Bran imports have also risen by 16%, to 765 thousand tons, accounting for over 94% of Russia's bran exports. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in the import of corn, corn products, barley, soybeans, alcohol, sugar, and various food items. Russia's agricultural exports to Turkey contributed to 19.4% of Turkey's total agricultural imports in 2019, valued at almost $13 billion.
