The Fish Quarantine Agency, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products (BKIPM) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) together with relevant stakeholders have taken action against violations of quarantine and fish biological safety. There were at least 112 cases of violations recorded throughout 2021. Head of BKIPM Rina said, from the side of supervision, 46 technical implementing units (UPT) of BKIPM in synergy with law enforcement agencies have taken action against 112 cases of violations that occurred throughout Indonesia. As a result, Rp 192 billion of fish resource value (SDI) was saved. The cases of violations involved lobster, crab, and ornamental/live fish commodities.
