At the International Animal Protein Show in São Paulo, Mario Sergio Cutait emphasized tilapia's increasing role in the global protein market, especially in Brazil, the fourth largest producer. Aquaculture is projected to surpass chicken and pork production within 25 years, driven by ideal conditions in Brazil, including logistics infrastructure for export, abundant freshwater reservoirs, grain production, climate, and growing demand. Cutait also stressed the importance of genetic and nutritional improvement of tilapia and mentioned the growth of Fider Pescados, which produces 10,000 tons of tilapia annually and invests in environmental preservation.
