The availability of greenhouse tomatoes on the Ukrainian market has dropped, with suppliers planning to start new sales in late March. The decrease in supply is attributed to a reduction in tomatoes from Turkey. As a result, the price of imported Turkish tomatoes has surged by 16% in a week, retailing between UAH 85-100/kg ($2.32-2.73/kg). This increase has led to imported tomatoes being 1.8 times more expensive on average compared to the same period last year, with a potential for further price hikes.
