The 2023 Peruvian blueberry season has seen a notable improvement in transit times to major markets, including a reduction in transit times to the United States, Europe, and Asia compared to the previous season. CEO of Quima, Ignacio Santibáñez, highlighted the most significant improvements in transit times to the East and West Coast of the United States, the United Kingdom, and China. Despite these improvements, the industry still encounters quality issues, with sensitivity being a common defect in both the United States and Europe, and rot being a persistent issue in Asia. Quima has inspected over 140 million kilos of blueberries from various origins this campaign.
