To the south of Córdoba, where sandy soils are subjected to erosion and impoverishment caused by winds and the pressure of crops such as peanuts, an Aapresid trial seems to have found good strategies for their protection and capture of key resources like water. This is the trial conducted by the agronomist and Technical Development Manager (RTD) of the Aapresid South Córdoba Farm, Mariano Robledo Giraudo, who, along with 24 producers and experts from INTA, Conicet, the National University of Rosario, and the National University of Río Cuarto, bet on different combinations of service crops, where rye and mixtures of vetch and triticale were the stars. The chosen path, as they reported, was the least intuitive: sowing in the middle of the dry season, between late April and early May. In that area, 80% of the rainfall falls between September and March.
