In the past year, Iran has produced approximately 180,000 tons of trout, with similar production plans for the current year, according to Isa Golshahi, the director-general of Iran’s Fishery Organization (IFO) for quality improvement, processing, and market development. The country has seen a significant increase in fishery production in recent years, with high-quality fishery products finding easy sale in export markets. In the past two years, Iran has also started exporting its fishery products to new markets including China, South Korea, and the Eurasian Union nations.
