By Pedro Lima São Paulo, 10/22/2025 - The president of the United States, Donald Trump, once again defended on Wednesday the tariffs imposed on the import of cattle and beef products, mentioning Brazil among the affected countries. In posts on Truth Social, he stated that American cattle ranchers "are doing so well, for the first time in decades," thanks to the trade protection measures adopted during his administration. "The only reason they are doing so well is because I imposed tariffs on cattle entering the United States, including a 50% tariff on Brazil," wrote Trump. "If it weren't for me, they would be as they have been for the last 20 years - terribly!" he added.
