Vietnam has seen a significant increase in ginger exports to Australia, growing by 1,350% in the first four months of 2021, reaching over 348,000 USD. The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia is working to diversify agricultural products and build a brand for Vietnamese ginger in the Australian market. Currently, fresh ginger from Vietnam is sold in supermarkets, shops, and online in Australia, with a price range of 9-13 AUD/kg. The potential import turnover of ginger in Australia is predicted to exceed 100 billion dong. Meanwhile, in Vietnam, ginger cultivation, particularly in Ha Quang district and Huong Hoa district, has shown promising results with high yields and profitability, providing a source of income for ethnic minorities and contributing to poverty escape.
