A delegation from Uzbekistan visited the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. The result has been an uninterrupted water flow to farmers' fields, leading to a record high cotton harvest. Despite this year's drought, farmers are expecting a rich harvest due to sufficient irrigation water and increased cotton prices. The region plans to harvest 280 thousand tons of raw cotton from an area of 110 thousand hectares. The Uzbek delegation also inspected a school and a private clinic in the city of Zhetysay.
