The Free Trade and Cooperation Agreement between EFTA (which includes Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein) and Turkey, which was signed in 1992 and renewed in 2018, has been published in the Official Gazette and is set to come into force. The revised agreement updates rules on goods trade, including customs duties, national treatment, technical barriers, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and general provisions. It also includes a comprehensive text on intellectual property and regulations on data protection and technology transfer. The agreement is expected to increase trade in services and goods with these countries. Additionally, it facilitates patient mobility in private health services, aged care services, and wellness services, and includes provisions for e-commerce.
