Turkey reduced imports of sunflower and sunflower products in June due to high domestic stocks, with imports of sunflower seeds estimated at 87,000 tons compared to 168,000 tons in May. The main suppliers of sunflower seeds to the Turkish market in June were Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Romania. Experts expect that Turkey's imports of sunflower and sunflower products will sharply decline in July-September 2023, partly due to increased import duties imposed by the government to protect local farmers.
