About 2,900 cattle from Uruguay, which were stranded for almost a month on a ship off the coast of Turkey, have begun their return to the South American country, mostly in good sanitary conditions, a source from the Ministry of Livestock reported this Monday. Turkish authorities prevented the disembarkation due to alleged inconsistencies in the health certificates, while Uruguayan authorities attributed the incident to a commercial conflict between the exporter and the importer, and ruled out health problems in the animals.
