Sinan Kızıltan, chairman of the exporters’ association, emphasized Türkiye's leadership in European sea bass and sea bream production and its position as the second-largest trout producer globally at the FEAP General Assembly. He highlighted that Turkish entrepreneurs have built advanced facilities, enabling exports to over 100 countries, with 2023 exports totaling $1.679 billion. Key exports included sea bass, sea bream, Turkish salmon, trout, and tuna. The 'Turkish Tastes TURQUALITY' project has been promoting Turkish seafood in the U.S. since 2018, aiming to surpass $2 billion in exports by 2028. Turgay Türkyılmaz from the Agriculture and Forestry Ministry stressed the importance of sustainable practices to maintain Türkiye’s leading role in aquaculture.
