Turkey's Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ebubekir Gizligider, has warned that the country is heading towards water poverty due to urbanization and increased tourism. He stated that Turkey's current water resources may drop by 20% by 2030, given the projected population growth and urbanization. The country's current water consumption per capita is 1,313 cubic meters, and to avoid water poverty, it should not fall below 1,000 cubic meters. The Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Çorum, Hayrullah Göktekin, discussed the importance of sustainable and conscious production planning in agriculture to ensure economic and environmental sustainability. This planning will help efficiently use limited resources like soil and water and contribute to combating global problems such as climate change.
